Hybrid Working & Benefits: Salary £75,000 - £90,000 per annum, hybrid working (2-3 days in the office), and additional benefits listed below.

Role Summary

Seeking a Lead/Principal Hardware & Firmware Engineer with a strong background in electronics design, firmware development, and leadership. You will oversee the full product design lifecycle, lead architecture decisions, and mentor a small innovative team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead hardware and firmware design and architecture
  • Manage and mentor a team of engineers
  • Oversee full product lifecycle from concept to production
Required Skills & Experience
  • 7-10+ years industry experience
  • Leadership, team management, coaching, and project management skills
  • Experience in electronics circuit design (analogue, digital, power, RF)
  • PCB design and schematic capture
  • Embedded software development in C
  • Microcontroller experience: STM32, ARM Cortex, Microchip PIC
  • Network interfaces: SPI, I2C, USB, UART, RS232/485, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, RF
  • Knowledge of DFM, DFC, DFT principles
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
Desirable Skills
  • Product safety and compliance (EMC/EMI, CE, FCC)
  • Experience with battery-powered Bluetooth or Wi-Fi devices
  • Analog electronics design knowledge
  • Experience in startup or small team environments
