Overview

Ellowes Hall Sports College is a thriving, inclusive school with a strong commitment to supporting all students in achieving their full potential. This is an exciting and brand-new opportunity to work alongside the Head of Science. The successful candidate will be a qualified instructional coach, or be prepared to complete this training, to develop teaching, learning and pedagogy across the department and wider school. The Lead Practitioner of Science is part of a team of professionals that take responsibility for developing quality of teaching, learning and pedagogy across the department and wider school. The Lead Practitioner is also accountable for ensuring students have opportunities for and experiences of extra-curricular Science activities. The Lead Practitioner works very closely with the Head of Department, Senior members of staff and members of the central team. Lead Practitioners accelerate improvement and raise standards in their subject area. Lead Practitioners will support in planning and teaching high quality lessons, improving outcomes, whilst ensuring students engage in extra-curricular activities. Lead Practitioners will analyse performance data to ensure that students are appropriately supported to achieve their best possible outcomes.
