Job description

This is a remote based role that requires national travel, and travel to Seashell campus minimum 3x per year. Are you ready to lead, support and inspire as a specialist in sensory impairment? We are seeking an experienced and qualified Specialist Multi-Sensory Impairment Teacher (MSI Teacher) / MQ Lead Practitioner to join our expanding Sensory Support team.Seashell Trust is one of only two providers within the UK providing this specialist MSI qualification and this is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to lead on the delivery of advisory MSI education support for children and young adults (0-25 years) within schools, colleges and community-based settings to ensure enhanced outcomes.This support will include delivering remote and online training sessions to cohorts of qualified teachers nationally who are working with children and young adults with MSI.This outward-facing role also includes helping us grow and promote our external services so local, regional, and national travel will be required. Some weekend and evening working may, from time to time also be required to perform this role.Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver tailored educational programmes and advice to learners across home, school, and college settings.
  • Carry out individual specialist assessments (including Deafblind Guidance) and contribute to EHCP assessments and reports.
  • Provide engaging and informative training sessions to professionals and parents.
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of the MQ MSI (post graduate qualification)
  • Support MQ students who are enrolled on the programme
  • Identify gaps in the market to design new training courses in collaboration with Seashell colleagues and those in the wider specialist field
  • Champion and promote Seashell Trust’s external services through outreach, networking, and awareness campaigns
  • Take a lead role in shaping the Trust’s wider Sensory Support service
What We’re Looking For
  • QTS/QTLS
  • Specialist MSI qualification e.g. PGDip Mandatory Teaching in MSI / Master’s qualification in Sensory Impairment (or equivalent)
  • Experienced MSI teacher with proven experience supporting learners with multisensory impairments across both school, higher education and advisory services
  • Confident communicator with experience delivering assessments and training
  • Experienced in networking and delivering presentations at sensory impairment conferences and event
  • Good knowledge of key policies, recent legislation and national developments within sensory impairments and the broader SEND sector
  • Flexible and proactive approach with a commitment to high-quality, person-centred support
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across various settings
