Job description

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding practitioner with a proven track record of teaching excellence to join our expanding Academy Improvement Team as our Lead Practitioner of Maths for September 2025.

You will inspire our committed and supportive team, modelling and leading the improvement of teaching skills to raise student achievement across all groups and narrow attainment gaps. We welcome applications from experienced teachers passionate about their subject and dedicated to enabling students to make excellent progress.

Your focus will be on raising attainment in Maths by collaborating with teachers and leaders across the organisation. You will support colleagues to deliver high standards and be willing to step in when necessary. This role offers a unique opportunity for career development towards headship.

As a Lead Practitioner, you will be part of a diverse team with varied experience. The department will train and develop trainee teachers and ECTs, investing in the future of the department and the academy. Senior leaders and experienced practitioners will support you in developing the Maths curriculum and implementing it effectively. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly effective practitioner to contribute to raising teaching standards and positively impact pupils' learning in Maths.
