Overview

We are looking for an exceptional teacher to join us in January as a maternity cover while our Lead Practitioner takes maternity leave. You will work with our Head of Science to continue to advance the department, striving to achieve rapid progress and attain the high academic expectations of our school. The role sits within our Extended Leadership Team and therefore offers the opportunity for career development through additional whole school responsibility and involvement.

Responsibilities

• Teach Science from Years 7 to 13 with enthusiasm and dynamism.
• Lead with assurance and provide clarity on teaching, pedagogy and innovation within Science.
• Be an active part of this diverse community and contribute to department and whole-school initiatives.
• Engage in leadership activities and coaching as part of the Extended Leadership Team, with opportunities for career development through additional responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher with excellent leadership and coaching skills gained in a management role (e.g., Deputy Head of Department).
• Experience teaching Chemistry to A level and ability to teach Biology to KS4.
