We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Practice Nurse to join our team on a permanent basis. This role requires a dynamic, flexible and passionate nursing professional who will support the development of our student nurse.
Professional Expectations: Attend and contribute to relevant internal and external meetings as required including practice clinical meetings, general team meetings
Supervise and support a student nurse on placement, providing guidance, feedback, and mentorship.
Completion of theSSSA (Standards for Student Supervision and Assessment) training.
A flexible approach to shift scheduling, including willingness to adjust working days to match student nurse placements.
Up-to-date, current mandatory training, DBS check, and immunisation record, experience in primary care setting essential.
Key Responsibilities:Deliver direct patient care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and care plans.
Ensure all data protection requirements are met when gathering, recording and storing patientdata
Make professionally autonomous decisions for which he/she is accountable and provide safe,evidence based, cost effective, individualised patient care
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, holistic, and patient-centred care.
Provide comprehensive travel health advice for patients prior to travel
Administer child and adult immunisations and vaccinations in accordance with national and localprogrammes. Competent in anaphylaxis and resuscitation techniques. Ensuring safe storage,rotation and disposals of vaccines and drugs and that adequate stock levels are maintained
Provide support and chaperoning to the doctors as and when required
Promote health and wellbeing, giving general education advice on Cervical cytology, Smears, diet, contraception, smoking, exercise, Initiate and carry out programmes of health screening as agreed with the practice clinical team
Accurately complete patient records and documentation &ensure practice is in line with current clinical standards and infection control protocols.
Maintain a flexible working approach to align with the student nurses rota and maximise learning opportunities, assist with the planning and implementation and teaching for practice student nurse.
We are a friendly team of 2 GP partners, 1 Salaried GP, 3 Pharmacists, Prescribing Clerk, large Admin and Reception team.

Perform routine nurse duties including wound care, immunisations, cervical screening, and suture removal, phlebotomy
Undertake health screening and NHS Health Checks in accordance with current guidelines.
Provide travel health advice and administer vaccinations in line with current travel protocols.
Assist with family planning, contraception advice, and sexual health services.
Provide care and support to patients with complex needs, including the frail elderly and those with multiple co-morbidities.
Take samples, such as swabs and bloods
Administer medications and injections under patient-specific or patient group directions (PSDs/PGDs).
Educate and advise patients on healthy lifestyles, diet, smoking cessation, and exercise.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date clinical records in accordance with legal and professional standards.
Ensure stock control and maintenance of medical supplies and clinical equipment.
Comply with infection prevention and control procedures and uphold clinical safety protocols.
Supervise and support student nurse
Must maintain own learning and training- All relevant training such as immunisations or cervical cytology, must be up to date.
