Job description

Glebe Road Surgery brings to you an exciting opportunity for a Senior Practice Nurse to join our very friendly nursing team to lead and support them in their roles. You will have experience as a Practice Nurse in primary care and will be expected to undertake all aspects of general practice nursing, including baby imms, chronic disease management and cervical screening.

We are a busy Southwest London GP practice with 10,500 patients and a full complement of clinical and administrative staff. We are a certified ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management Systems business and have been rated 'Good' by the CQC.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To lead on Infection Prevention Control and work with the partners and practice manager to ensure CQC compliance at all times.
  • Provide routine nursing care to patients in accordance with clinical based evidence, NICE and NSF
  • Implement and evaluate individual treatment plans for chronic disease patients that promote health and wellbeing
  • Understanding the importance of evidence-based practice
  • Understand the requirement for PGDs and associated policy
  • Ability to record accurate clinical notes
  • Ability to work within own scope of practice and understanding when to refer to GPs
  • Chaperone procedure
  • Women's health (cervical cytology, contraception, etc.)
  • Immunisations (routine, childhood and travel)
  • Chronic disease management in Asthma, COPD, Diabetes.
  • Spirometry
