Job summary

Our client in Randburg, Gauteng seeks a Lead Power Systems Analyst to guide advanced studies and grid planning. You will model power systems, assess stability, and help set protective settings while mentoring junior engineers.

You will work with grid operations, planning and asset management teams, staying abreast of smart grid technologies and regulatory standards in a hybrid on-site/remote setup.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in power system analysis and operations.
• Proficiency with industry-standard power system simulation software.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform comprehensive power system studies including load flow, short circuit, transient stability and contingency analysis.
• Develop and validate power system models using PSS/E, PowerFactory DIgSILENT, ETAP.
• Analyze impact of renewable energy, storage and new loads on grid performance.
• Contribute to planning and design of grid reinforcements and upgrades.
