Job summary

Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a skilled Estates Technician with strong plumbing expertise. You will lead complex plumbing diagnoses and repairs across hospital plant and equipment, and support the delivery of a high‑quality estates service within Greater Manchester.

The role requires competency in minor electrical and joinery, plus mentoring new apprentices and T‑level students as they join the service.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified in plumbing services.
• Competent in multi-skilled maintenance including minor electrical and joinery.
• Experience leading apprentices and on‑the‑job training.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex plumbing diagnoses and repairs across plant and equipment.
• Respond to reactive and planned works to minimise external contractor use.
• Interpret detailed engineering drawings and specifications for others.
• Liaise with estates operatives and contractors to ensure safety compliance.
• Lead small works on site as assigned and mentor new staff.
