Job summary

Matchtech Group seeks a Lead Platform Engineer to join an AI-driven technology business serving the UK lettings and estate agency sector. The role is permanent, with London office optional and remote work available.

You will lead platform development, design scalable backend systems, and shape how engineering teams use AI. A hands-on leader, you will drive architectural decisions and collaborate with senior leadership to deliver reliable AI-powered solutions.

Qualifications

• Significant hands-on software engineering experience in AI, SaaS, or related platforms.
• Strong Node.js and NestJS with API design expertise.
• Kubernetes and GCP familiarity.
• Experience with API testing and software quality.
• Understanding of agentic AI and LLMs.
• Degree-level education in CS or related field.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design and build scalable backend systems and RESTful APIs.
• Develop and maintain microservice and event-driven architectures.
• Lead a small team of engineers and uphold coding standards.
• Set best practices for agentic AI development with LLMs.
• Contribute to technical strategy and long-term planning.
• Maintain secure, reliable data pipelines and platforms.
• Collaborate with product teams on lettings workflows.
• Drive technical improvements for dependable delivery.
