Job summary

Oscar Associates Limited is seeking a Lead Platform Engineer to own and shape our Azure cloud estate across Azure, GCP, and modern data platforms. This hybrid Nottingham role emphasizes Terraform, Kubernetes, and CI/CD excellence, with a focus on reliability, security, and developer experience.

You will drive platform engineering practices, improve monitoring and observability, and collaborate with development teams to deliver scalable, cost-efficient cloud solutions.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Own and manage our Azure cloud estate, ensuring security, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Lead the adoption of Terraform and Infrastructure as Code, including bringing existing infrastructure under management.
• Own and operate Kubernetes workloads, including deployments, ingress, scaling, upgrades, troubleshooting, and day-to-day platform operations.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
• Support cloud migration and separation projects across Azure and GCP.
• Design, automate, and test disaster recovery and business continuity solutions.
• Improve monitoring, alerting, and observability across our platform.
• Manage cloud security, identity, secrets, and certificates.
• Provide technical guidance on Azure architecture and platform engineering.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and act as a senior technical escalation point.
• Work closely with development and technology teams to improve platform reliability and developer experience

We are partnering with an established and growing data business based in Nottingham to find a talented Lead Platform Engineer to take ownership of our cloud infrastructure and help shape the next stage of our platform. This is a hybrid role with a minimum of one day per week in our Nottingham office. It offers genuine ownership and influence, with the opportunity to work across Azure, GCP, and modern data platforms while helping us improve DevOps standards, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, monitoring, disaster recovery, and platform engineering practices.

We offer a salary of £65,000-£75,000.
