Job Title: Lead Planning Engineer

Amentum, a leading global provider of technical and engineering services, is seeking a Lead Planning Engineer to join our team on a major project near Reading. We value operational excellence, safety, and ethics, with a heritage spanning over a century.

Job Summary:

The Lead Planning Engineer will manage the Planning team, overseeing schedule development, reporting, updates, and maintenance for one or more projects or programmes within the Amentum E&E (UK) business unit.

Responsibilities:

1. Ensure accurate and timely communication and reporting of data to stakeholders.
2. Escalate issues appropriately through the Project Controls Management structure.
3. Contribute to the continuous improvement of Project Controls quality and performance.
4. Manage, mentor, and coach the Planning delivery teams.
5. Oversee the preparation of baselines during all project phases.
6. Lead the creation of time-phased schedules.
7. Monitor and forecast schedule activities within the Work Breakdown Structure and project end date.
8. Maintain a Basis of Schedule for all schedules produced.
9. Ensure schedule activities have rules of credit and quantity tracking for trend analysis.
10. Maintain planning databases and validate information across systems.
11. Support the Commercial team with contractor schedule approvals and milestone payments.
12. Provide information to support risk management processes.
13. Implement change control processes and track contingency use.
14. Generate and implement change control requests.
15. Prepare schedule reports, including earned value analysis, critical trend identification, and recovery plans.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum of 10 years' experience in project delivery, preferably in the nuclear or a similarly regulated sector.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Membership in a relevant chartered body.
• Project management certification.

Current SC clearance or willingness to obtain it is required.
