The project:

In the energy sector, the UK will need to invest up to £900 billion of capital expenditure to enable a net zero economy by 2050. For our clients in the sector, this means delivering complex projects and programmes delivering low-carbon technologies and infrastructure, safely, efficiently, and at pace.

Enabling a whole system approach to decarbonising energy is currently constrained by the capacity of, and connection to, the electricity network. This role will work at the forefront of this, contributing to the delivery of construction projects connecting new and storage into the grid. Working closely with client and contractor teams, you will build close working relationships to ensure projects progress according to contracted timescales and requirements.

Minimum qualifications and skills include:

  • Expert knowledge of schedule management tools and software.
  • Mastery in setting up effective planning and scheduling systems and procedures.
  • Ability to manage activities with significant uncertainty.
  • Effective communication and collaboration with clients and project stakeholders.
  • Experience in managing and resolving conflicts.
  • Leadership in building and leading high-performing teams.
  • Ability to set vision and strategy for future projects.
  • Experience in recruiting, developing, and coaching talented individuals.
  • Relevant degree and professional experience in construction, programme, project, or commercial management disciplines.

Additional preferred qualifications:

  • Membership of professional bodies such as APM, RICS, CIOB, ICE, AACE, IRM, IEMA, or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience in planning projects within the consulting sector.
  • Deep property or infrastructure project management expertise.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen.
  • Leadership experience managing diverse teams and key stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations impact projects.
  • Attention to detail in schedule management and reporting.
  • Chartered or registered member of a relevant industry body.
  • Relevant CSCS card and local qualifications.
