Lead Planner - Transmission & Distribution

The project: In the energy sector, the UK will need to invest up to £900 billion of capital expenditure to enable a net zero economy by 2050. For our clients in the sector, this means delivering complex projects and programmes delivering low-carbon technologies and infrastructure. This role will work at the forefront of this, contributing to the delivery of construction projects connecting new generation and storage into the grid.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will be a leading advocate of Mace's value of safety first, and be accountable for leading and maintaining exceptional safety, quality, cost, programme, sustainability and project compliance standards.
  • You will lead the delivery of key assignments and defined business areas, providing strategic direction and monitoring delivery aligned with overall vision and objectives.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring projects and tenders are effectively planned, scheduled, and monitored.
  • Creates plans and analyses trends using numerical and statistical techniques.
  • Leads the planning team and provides leadership and direction through managers/team.
  • Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.

You'll need to have:

  • Expert knowledge of schedule management tools & software.
  • Degree (or equivalent) with professional work experience in one or more specific disciplines in the construction, programme, project or commercial management disciplines.

You'll also have:

  • Membership of APM, RICS, CIOB, ICE, AACE, IRM, IEMA or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
  • Extensive experience in the successful planning of projects and programmes in the consult sector.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen.
