Job summary

Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking an enthusiastic Pharmacy Technician to lead the Pharmacy Stores team, coordinating medicine supplies and ensuring safe storage. You will supervise Pharmacy Assistants across wards and departments and work closely with dispensary and procurement teams.

Automation with Omnicell robots is in the stores and dispensary. Candidates should have NVQ/BTEC Level 3 in Pharmacy Service skills or equivalent, with willingness to gain accuracy

Qualifications

• NVQ / BTEC Level 3 Pharmacy Service skills or equivalent required.
• Desirable: BTEC Level 4 Professional Diploma in Dispensing Technician Checking or equivalent.
• Willingness to gain approved accuracy checking qualification within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day management of the Pharmacy stores and distribution section.
• Organise workload and supervise designated staff.
• Ensure safe and secure receipt and supply of medicines to Trust and external service-users.
