An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated pharmacy technician to join the Pharmacy Procurement team at Barts Health NHS Trust. We are looking for a dedicated team player, with excellent communication and organisational skills, someone who strives to provide a high quality and efficient service to our patients and the wider organisation.

Main duties of the job

·The day-to-day management of staff and workload of the pharmacy procurement team to support the provision of a safe, effective, timely and high-quality service

·For delivering and overseeing staff training in pharmacy procurement and ensuring training is up to date in line with service developments

·Deputise for the Procurement Specialist Pharmacy Technician

·For leading the development of all functions within their designated portfolio:

Purchasing

·Purchasing of medicines, including medical gases and unlicensed medicines

·Medicines shortage management

·Procurement cost improvement programmes

Procurement contracts and Invoicing

·Managing timely medicines invoice processing

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The Pharmacy Department at Barts Health is one of the largest in the country and covers a population of 2.5 million. We provide clinical pharmacy and medicines optimisation services from our five hospital sites across the City of London, East and Northeast London

The successful candidate will be based at the Royal London hospital but may be required to work at any of the Barts Health NHS Trust sites.
