Job summary
We are looking for an experienced, motivated and innovative clinical pharmacy technician with exceptional interpersonal and organisational skills who will enjoy a senior role within this friendly, dynamic team. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to lead, manage and deliver the technical elements of a high-quality clinical pharmacy service with a large team of clinical pharmacy technicians and senior ATOs. The successful candidate will require excellent communication skills, enjoy working in a busy and dynamic environment and have a strong clinical background. They should have experience in managing a team, including HR and ER matters, as well as service development and contributing to cost-saving initiatives.The post holder will be a professional registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council whose duties will include the supervision and training of clinical pharmacy technicians, pre-registration pharmacy technicians, trainee pharmacists and ATO's. The candidate must hold the NVQ level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent and have achieved Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) and educational supervisor qualifications. A CPD Portfolio would be advantageous but not essential.
Main duties of the job

Key responsibilities of the role include:o To lead, manage, strategically develop, deliver and monitor advanced and expert technical aspects of the clinical pharmacy service to the Trust.o To practice as an advanced clinical pharmacy technician and act as a role model for other pharmacy technicians and staff.o To plan, conduct, supervise and evaluate audits, research, projects, service development and quality improvement to clinical pharmacy services.o To develop, advise on, implement and evaluate procedures, guidelines and policies, in line with and which may be local or national.o To be responsible for managing the clinical pharmacy technicians and ATOs and providing line management, supervision, support and training for pharmacy colleagues and other healthcare professionals.o To complete directorate or service reports, analyse and horizon scan expenditure and make and implement cost-effective recommendations without compromising patient care.o To participate in risk management by actively mitigating for medication errors and contribute to the clinical governance agenda.o To liaise with external agencies and organisations to ensure the safe and effective provision of clinical services to patients.o To contribute to the strategic planning of the pharmacy department
