Job description

The Rheumatology service cares for over 5000 patients across 4 hospital sites, with over 2600 patients prescribed biologic therapy. We are excited to offer an opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated, and forward‑thinking pharmacist to join our Pharmacy Specialist Medicine Team at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. team provides clinical pharmacy services across several specialties within the Specialist Medicine directorates. In this role, you will be the lead pharmacist for rheumatology services. You will support the Biologics Review Clinics to ensure all these patients are regularly reviewed & treatment tailored to their requirements. A good understanding of the high‑cost drugs process is required as you will be expected to monitor & manage funding applications for these medicines within Rheumatology.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting prescribing in rheumatology
  • Providing support to the biologics review clinic
  • Managing Homecare services and funding applications for high‑cost medicines in rheumatology
  • Monitoring and processing Homecare prescriptions
  • Developing pharmacist clinics in rheumatology
  • Managing & developing a band 7 pharmacist (also 0.5 WTE rheumatology)
  • Developing and reviewing medicine pathways
Experience and Qualifications
  • Self‑motivated and organised individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confident working with a wide range of healthcare professionals and comfortable using IT systems and databases
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • A postgraduate clinical diploma or equivalent experiential learning
  • Independent Prescribing Qualification

  • Financial reporting (e.g. biosimilar savings, CIP schemes)
  • Guideline development and review
