Job summary

NHS Orkney invites applications for Lead Pharmacist Acute Services and Systems. This senior role combines clinical leadership, medicines governance and service development to influence patient care across the organisation.

You will lead the Acute Services Pharmacy Team, oversee HEPMA and pharmacy systems, and drive digital transformation, medicines optimisation, and governance initiatives with clinicians and regional partners.

Qualifications

Significant post-registration clinical pharmacy experience.
Experience delivering specialist clinical pharmacy services.
Strong leadership, team development and change management skills.
Passion for medicines optimisation, innovation and digital transformation.
Experience of service development, quality improvement and project delivery.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Independent Prescribing qualification or willingness to undertake training.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop the Acute Services Pharmacy Team with strategic and operational leadership.
Oversee the safe operation, optimisation and future development of HEPMA and pharmacy systems.
Collaborate with clinicians and regional partners to drive medicines governance and service improvement.
Support educational development and professional leadership for future pharmacists.
Represent NHS Orkney regionally and nationally through networks.
