Job summary

Synechron is seeking a Performance & Non‑Functional Testing Lead to shape and lead testing strategy for large cloud platforms. You’ll define performance, resilience, DR and operational readiness testing across a complex enterprise environment.

Bring deep expertise in performance engineering, cloud platforms (GCP), and non‑functional testing to drive quality across a major transformation programme and lead from the front.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading Performance & Non‑Functional Testing in large, complex enterprise environments.
• Hands‑on experience with load, stress, volume, failover, DR, HA, and resilience testing.
• Familiarity with modern performance tools such as JMeter, Gatling, LoadRunner or NeoLoad.
• Experience testing cloud-native, containerised, and serverless apps on GCP.
• Strong scripting/programming skills in Python, Java, Scala, Cypher or similar.
• Knowledge of database performance tuning, connections, and monitoring.
• Exposure to graph databases like Neo4j.
• Understanding of message queues, throughput, ingestion, and event‑driven design.
• Experience API testing, batch/ETL testing, test data generation, and mocking.
• Strong stakeholder communication and team leadership capability.

Responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end Performance & Non‑Functional Testing across the programme.
• Define and drive testing strategy, roadmap, standards, and governance.
• Plan and execute testing across load, stress, volume, failover, high availability, resilience, DR, and ops readiness.
• Translate non‑functional requirements into measurable test outcomes and KPIs.
• Collaborate with engineering, architecture, DevOps, product, and support to embed testing.
• Analyse bottlenecks using logs, profilers, monitoring tools and metrics.
• Deliver risk‑based reporting, dashboards, defect analysis, and release readiness updates.
• Recommend tooling, environments, and resourcing strategies, including PoCs for new tools.
• Ensure testing is integrated into CI/CD pipelines.

This is a high‑impact role where you’ll define how performance, resilience, failover, disaster recovery, and operational readiness are tested across a complex enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end Performance & Non‑Functional Testing capability across the programme
• Define and drive the testing strategy, roadmap, standards, and governance
• Plan and execute testing across load, stress, volume, failover, high availability, resilience, disaster recovery, and operational readiness
• Translate non‑functional requirements into measurable test outcomes and KPIs
• Collaborate with engineering, architecture, DevOps, product, and support teams to embed testing into delivery pipelines
• Analyse bottlenecks using logs, profilers, monitoring tools, and system metrics
• Deliver clear risk‑based reporting, dashboards, defect analysis, and release readiness updates
• Recommend tooling, environments, and resourcing strategies, including proof of concepts for new tools
• Ensure testing is integrated into CI/CD pipelines

Required Skills

• Proven experience leading Performance & Non‑Functional Testing in large, complex enterprise environments
• Strong hands‑on experience in load, stress, volume, failover, disaster recovery, high availability, and resilience testing
• Expertise with tools such as JMeter, Gatling, LoadRunner, NeoLoad, or similar
• Experience testing cloud‑native, containerised, and serverless applications, ideally on GCP
• Strong coding/scripting skills in Python, Java, Scala, Cypher, or similar
• Experience with database performance analysis, tuning, connection pooling, and monitoring
• Exposure to graph databases such as Neo4j
• Understanding of message queues, throughput, ingestion, and event‑driven systems
• Hands‑on experience with API testing, batch/ETL testing, test data generation, and mocking
• Strong stakeholder communication and team leadership capability

Nice to Have

• Experience with IAM / Identity & Access Management
• Exposure to GitLab CI/CD, GitOps, DevSecOps, and policy‑as‑code
• Knowledge of AppDynamics, Datadog, GCP Monitoring, or similar APM tools
• Experience with Pub/Sub, MQ technologies, SaaS testing, and Kubernetes/Docker performance
• Familiarity with ServiceNow, Active Directory, AWS, and Azure integrations
