As the primary liaison for assigned hospitals, this role ensures timely financial and performance management and oversight. You will help drive performance improvement initiatives to enhance system integration and performance.

Here is what you will be doing

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in performance management within the hospital system.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Ontario Health teams, HSPs, and Ministries to support effective performance and issue resolution.

  • Provide operational insights for system performance planning, integration strategies, and service gap analyses.

  • Identify and support clinical service changes and broader system improvements in collaboration with internal and external partners.

  • Standardize best practices and identify improvement priorities to streamline processes and enhance integration.

  • Lead budget, program and service reviews, particularly in early-stage capital projects and service gap assessments.

  • Recommend strategies for improving access to care, including wait time allocations and provincial program implementation.

  • Monitor and address high-risk issues and performance concerns in collaboration with internal teams.

  • Analyze hospital financial and performance reports and align them with Ontario Health’s strategic goals.

  • Contribute to the development of annual and multi-year performance management plans.

  • Participate in provincial discussions on performance frameworks and their local application.

  • Lead the end-to-end process for Service Accountability Agreements (SAAs), including schedule development.

Here is what you will need to be successful

Education and Experience

  • University or Master’s in business administration, health administration or relevant field.

  • Five plus years’ experience in the healthcare sector.

  • Administratively strong and able to converse well with HSPs, Ministry and other Ontario Health Regions as required.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience in project leadership and implementation.

  • Financial acumen.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word with a working knowledge of Information Management Systems such as SharePoint, Customer Relationship Management databases, etc.

  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills to work effectively with senior level HSP executives and their management teams, and to liaise with colleagues across Ontario Health and with contacts in the Ministry.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively negotiate when dealing with conflicting views.

  • Knowledge of performance management and evaluation techniques in one or more health sectors related to administrative and/or clinical performance.

  • Demonstrated capacity to identify and respond quickly to emerging issues and priorities.

  • Understanding of the Ontario healthcare system, its stakeholders, programs and issues.

  • Demonstrated experience with operation decision-making related to performance management.

Number of Positions: 1 Full Time Permanent and 1 Full Time Temporary (12 month duration)
