Job summary

The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a Peer Coordinator who will lead and supervise the CMHT Peer Support Team across localities, drawing on lived experience of mental health recovery to inform practice and service development.

The role focuses on recruitment, induction and wellbeing of Peer Support Workers, fostering recovery‑oriented care, empowerment and person‑centred approaches, with emphasis on safe use of lived experience to support

Qualifications

• Level 4 Peer Support accredited training or commitment to work towards it.
• GCSEs or equivalent qualifications, or agreed equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of working with people.
• Excellent understanding of peer support.
• Commitment to continual personal development.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership, support and supervision to Peer Support Workers
• Support the recruitment, induction, development and wellbeing of Peer Support Workers
• Ensure consistent, recovery-focused peer support is delivered across all localities
• Promote recovery, empowerment and person-centred approaches to care
• Help develop and improve peer support services, so lived experience is heard and valued
• Use personal experience to give hope, empathy and a practical perspective through support, dialogue and role modelling
