Qualifications

  • Proven experience with payroll legislation, tax, and PAYE procedures.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Self-motivated with a problem-solving approach.

Responsibilities

  • Handle end-to-end payroll processing for weekly and monthly paid employees.
  • Manage starters, leavers, SSP/SSMP, and process attachment of earnings orders.
  • Deal with HMRC submissions and respond to payroll queries.

We’re also on a mission to make the UK’s social housing sector greener and more energy efficient.

PH Jones is looking for an experienced Lead Payroll Administrator to join our team.

This is a permanent role with a hybrid working pattern, based both onsite at our Stockport office and working from home.

As a Lead Payroll Administrator, you will handle various payroll tasks daily, including:

  • End-to-end payroll processing for weekly and monthly paid employees
  • Producing earnings analysis for approval
  • Managing starters, leavers, SSP/SSMP
  • Processing attachment of earnings orders
  • Handling P45/P46, P60, and BACS payments
  • Managing employee benefits deductions
  • Dealing with HMRC submissions and retrievals
  • Updating and balancing PAYE reports for HMRC
  • Responding to ad hoc payroll queries

The Person:

  • Proven experience with payroll legislation, tax, and PAYE procedures
  • Knowledge of Navision/Miracle Pay software is advantageous
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Outlook, Word
  • Excellent team-working and communication skills
  • Self-motivated with a problem-solving approach
  • Ability to adapt to changing workloads and priorities
  • High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
