Job summary

CHCP is seeking a Consultant in Paediatric Dentistry to lead multidisciplinary teams in hospital settings, manage complex cases and supervise trainees. The post requires extensive paediatric experience, leadership and the ability to collaborate with medical colleagues to plan joint care.

Applicants should hold BDS/BChD, GDC Paediatric Dentistry Specialist List, and postgraduate qualification with evidence of leadership and teaching capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Dental Surgery or equivalent and specialist paediatric qualification.
• Full registration with the GDC on the Paediatric Dentistry Specialist List.
• Postgraduate qualifications in Paediatric Dentistry with leadership training.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multi-disciplinary team delivering paediatric dental care in hospital/theatre settings.
• Plan and manage dental care for children with complex medical needs and trauma.
• Liaise with medical and dental consultants to establish joint care plans.
• Contribute to clinical audits and governance related to Paediatric Dentistry.
• Provide mentorship and supervise DCTs and trainees.
