Lead Optical / Electronics Process Engineer

Use your advanced engineering skills to help Honeywell Cambridge deliver innovative solutions across a variety of design opportunities. You will be empowered to think BIG and challenge yourself to understand more than just one aspect of the electrical engineering discipline. You will work alongside some of the world's most talented engineers. You will apply research of complex systems to achieve desired electrical specifications. You will contribute to the development of Honeywell's state-of-the-art optical & electrical equipment and systems for military, space, and commercial applications, including Earth observation, space science, and communications. You will take a lead role as part of a multidisciplined team, in designing, testing and validating products from prototype to market. Examples of products include a broad spectrum of designs primarily focused on Optical and Electronic Communications products.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and material selection, development, optimization and design for use in Optics and Electronics products.

• Cleanliness and Contamination Control planning and implementation.

• Understanding chemical processing techniques for finishing high reliability and Optical / Electronic products.

• Requirements and Performance specification review and development.

• Cooperating with and interacting with external vendors and internal production - Developing requirements specifications and process documentation.

• Support manufacturing line requests for assistance during production activities.

• Customer interaction - Demonstrating how Honeywell solutions achieve compliance to customer requirements.

• Hands on testing and development of processes and performing failure analysis.

The Honeywell building is a controlled goods program environment. Candidates must be eligible for CGP and Reliability clearance.

YOU MUST HAVE

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics

• Minimum 8 years of relevant design experience in a high reliability product field, with a specialty in Materials selection, process engineering and production hardware development in a new product development environment

WE VALUE

• Experience working with NADCAP requirements for process development and control.

• Familiarity with Cleanliness and Contamination Control requirements and processes.

• Ability to convey subtle or complex messages clearly, as appropriate for the topic and audience

• Six Sigma tool usage and best practices

• Ability to consistently make timely decisions even in the face of complexity, balancing systematic analysis with decisiveness

• Experience with complete engineering lifecycle (Design to volume production)

• Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done, and are willing to do things before being asked by others or forced to by events.

• Ability to lead a Project, including application of budgetary controls and reporting.
