Lead Officer - Income and Support

Location: Rugby
Duration: 3 months (potential for extension)
Rate: £28-£30ph (Umbrella) / £21.26 - £22.76ph (PAYE)

Site Presence: 60% onsite presence / Hybrid working

Overview:
Opus People Solutions are seeking an experienced Lead Officer to support income recovery and tenancy sustainment services within the Housing team. This role will provide leadership on rent enforcement, legal casework, and tenancy support across general needs and independent living properties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead legal proceedings for rent arrears and tenancy breaches
  • Conduct tenancy reviews and provide strategic recommendations
  • Support and mentor Housing Officers and tenancy support staff
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to deliver holistic tenant support
  • Promote sustainable tenancies through advice, intervention, and multi-agency approaches
  • Maintain accurate case records, reports, and service monitoring

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of housing legislation and tenancy enforcement
  • Experience representing housing cases in court
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage complex caseloads
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
