Job Description

This is a fixed-term post until 1st September 2026. It is a part-time position, and the salary will be pro-rata based on hours worked. West Dunbartonshire Council seeks an experienced, creative, and enthusiastic Exhibitions & Arts Development Lead Officer. The role involves working closely with Arts & Heritage colleagues to enhance the profile of West Dunbartonshire's arts and heritage, developing an innovative exhibition and arts program, increasing accessibility to collections, and engaging residents and visitors through events and activities that explore local stories.

The successful candidate will contribute to the implementation of a new Arts and Heritage strategy, support the delivery of a new museum in Clydebank, and participate in the council’s culture-led Levelling Up Fund project for a new museum and library on Dumbarton High Street.

Requirements include experience in exhibition and arts programming, hands-on exhibition installation skills, management experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build stakeholder relationships, with a genuine interest in local history and heritage.
