Job summary

Priory Hospital Middleton St George, Darlington, is seeking a HCPC registered Lead Occupational Therapist to provide professional, clinical and operational leadership to the Occupational Therapy service.

You will work with multi-disciplinary colleagues to deliver advanced OT assessments and tailored treatment plans, ensure governance and quality standards, supervise students and staff, participate in budget management, and support patient recovery with dignity and high standards of care.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration and postgraduate qualification in OT.
• Experience leading OT teams and supervising staff.
• Knowledge of MoHO, VdTMoCA and Sensory Integration.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical, professional and operational leadership to the OT service.
• Collaborate with Therapy Services Manager to ensure OT services support Priory objectives.
• Lead advanced OT assessment, treatment and management for patients.
• Ensure practice meets local and national standards and governance requirements (COT standards, Code of Ethics).
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, investigations, audits, and supervise students/placements.
• Attend site governance, patient safety meetings and represent the OT department; engage with regional OT meetings.
• Take responsibility for budget aspects related to the OT role, e.g., therapy activity budget.
