Job description

Come and join one of the UK's largest providers of complex care. We proudly employ over 4,000+ people — no matter your experience, we have jobs for everyone.

Are you ready to lead a team that transforms lives? At Blackheath Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre, we’re looking for a passionate and innovative Lead Occupational Therapist to join us in delivering outstanding care and helping individuals rebuild their lives after life-changing injuries.

About Us

Blackheath is more than a rehabilitation centre – it’s a place where journeys of recovery are written every day. Our team specialises in providing tailored, patient-centred care to individuals with acquired brain injury and complex neurological conditions.

Be Inspired by Rob’s Story

Rob came to Blackheath following a devastating brain injury that left him unable to walk or speak. Through dedication, therapy, and resilience, he began his remarkable recovery. With the support of our expert therapists, Rob progressed from wheelchair-bound to walking with assistance, regaining his confidence and independence. Today, Rob’s story is a testament to the transformative power of rehabilitation and the essential role of our Occupational Therapy team.

As our Lead Occupational Therapist, you’ll have the opportunity to oversee similar success stories, driving clinical excellence and supporting your team to deliver innovative and compassionate care.

What you'll be working:

Our standard working hours are 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We understand the importance of a positive work-life balance, so if you require flexibility, we encourage you to discuss this with us, and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

What you'll be doing:
  • Lead and manage the Occupational Therapy team, ensuring effective delivery of highly specialist services
  • Work as an autonomous practitioner to plan and prioritise complex clinical caseloads
  • Collaborate with patients and their families/carers to encourage participation in therapy
  • Supervise, teach, and appraise junior occupational therapists, assistants, students, and other team members
  • Contribute to planning, developing, and evaluating the Occupational Therapy service
  • Develop Occupational Therapy treatment programmes in collaboration with patients, carers, and other professionals
  • Participate in clinical audits, risk management, and incident reporting
  • Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders
  • Support colleagues in improving standards, quality, and professional development
  • Ensure safety and uphold human rights of patients
What you'll have:
  • HCPC registration
  • Extensive experience in neurological rehabilitation or related fields
  • Strong leadership skills to inspire and motivate
  • A passion for innovation and achieving outstanding patient outcomes
  • Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check

We are committed to providing reasonable adjustments for individuals with disabilities during the application process. As a Disability Confident employer, we support inclusive employment practices.
