• Manage and ensure mandatory safeguarding training for staff.
• Represent the trust at external Safeguarding meetings.
• Promote inter-agency collaboration to enhance outcomes for individuals at risk.

Job description

• As lead of the Safeguarding Team the post holder will contribute to the setting, monitoring and maintenance of robust operational safeguarding, Domestic Abuse, Prevent and DoLS arrangements and training programmes. She/he will contribute to collaborative interagency working and quality assurance frameworks for safeguarding.
• The post holder will provide expert clinical leadership and direction for safeguarding of patients (adults with care and support needs and children) within the UHNM, inclusive of domestic abuse, DoLS and Prevent
• The post holder will directly provide, and oversee the provision of supervision and support to all staff re: safeguarding, domestic abuse, Prevent and DoLS particularly the complexities of statutory requirements for adult and child safeguarding
  
  

Key Areas/Tasks

• Provide robust operational leadership to the Safeguarding team
• Ensure all the Trust sites are treated with equal priority and that managers are aware of the need for their staff to attend mandatory training in safeguarding.
• To lead and manage a safeguarding team, to ensure the service operates a dynamic and responsive approach in supporting the clinical staff across the trust
• Represent the trust on external Safeguarding meetings i.e. DARDR’s, SAR’s, statutory Safeguarding reviews
• Work closely with other specialist safeguarding adults at risk professionals across the health community- safeguarding provider collaborative
• Work in partnership with the Trust’s neighbouring Local Safeguarding Adults Boards and sub committees in delivering and promoting training according to priorities and need as reflected in the training audits- Safeguarding provider collaborative system work
• The post holder will promote a high-quality evidence-based service, developing effective inter-disciplinary and inter-agency relationships to improve the outcomes those at risk of abuse and or neglect (children and adults with care and support needs), domestic abuse, and radicalisation
• As directed by the Lead for Vulnerable Patients, support the Trust to meet statutory requirements for Persons In Position of Trust
