Job description

An exciting new job opportunity has arisen for a committed Night Nurse Coordinator to work in an exceptional hospital within the Gainsborough, Lincolnshire area. You will be working for one of the UK's leading healthcare providers.

This hospital is a low secure unit for men with mental illnesses and personality disorders. They provide a full treatment pathway for those requiring rehabilitation and focus on patients learning new skills, embedding these in everyday life, and maintaining the skills necessary for community living.

To be considered for this position, you must be qualified as an RMN or RNLD Nurse with a current active NMC Pin.

As The Night Nurse Coordinator, your key responsibilities include:

  • Working as Senior Night Nurse in a ward or equivalent area, ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, families, and visitors.
  • Applying relevant policies and statutory requirements within the ward and hospital governance framework and communicating these to the wider team.
  • Assessing and managing risks across the immediate and wider environment, ensuring statutory requirements are met.
  • Promoting diversity and inclusion, role-modelling these values across the team.
  • Identifying deficits in skill mix and staffing levels and taking action to address them.
  • Supervising a defined group of team members, contributing to their CPD, mandatory training, and appraisals, and addressing performance issues as needed.
  • Implementing, monitoring, and evaluating therapeutic interventions within an overall care programme, helping individuals develop coping strategies.
  • Supporting and contributing to effective multidisciplinary working.

Preferred skills and experience:

  • At least 18 months to 2 years of post-registration experience.
  • Active registration with the Nursing Midwifery Council, meeting Revalidation requirements.
  • Training as an Assessor/Supervisor.
  • Experience in clinical supervision is essential; training in this area is desirable.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development and leadership ambitions.
  • Good computer skills.
