Job description

Job Title: Lead NEC Employer’s Agent – Major Logistics Development

Salary: £85,000 - £95,000 + Package

Location: London, UK

About the Company

Our client is a dynamic project management consultancy delivering complex, high-value construction schemes across the industrial, logistics, data center, hospitality, office, automotive, and residential sectors. With a robust global footprint across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, and a portfolio of world-leading clients- including top-tier tech firms - the business is renowned for its strategic, client-side delivery expertise.

About the Role

We are seeking a Lead NEC Employer’s Agent to take on a senior client-facing role on a nationally significant logistics development. Acting as the client’s NEC Project Manager, you will be embedded within the client-side team, leading all aspects of contract administration and project oversight across a multi-phase programme.

The scheme comprises over 8 million sq ft of logistics space, a new strategic rail freight interchange, and significant road and energy infrastructure. You will ensure robust contract performance, risk management, and stakeholder coordination to achieve successful delivery in line with the client’s objectives for cost, time, quality, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead NEC contract administration on behalf of the client, including issuing Early Warnings, Project Manager Instructions, assessing compensation events, and managing programme updates.
  • Act as the NEC Project Manager across the full lifecycle of the development, supporting both infrastructure and vertical build phases.
  • Oversee contractor compliance with contractual obligations and manage key interfaces across infrastructure and logistics packages.
  • Provide strategic oversight of cost, risk, quality, and programme performance, ensuring early identification and resolution of issues.
  • Collaborate closely with client stakeholders, consultants, and delivery partners to maintain control and drive project success.
  • Lead progress reporting, governance input, and commercial updates to senior client stakeholders.
  • Uphold rigorous HSEQ standards and promote continuous improvement across all workstreams.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience operating in a client-side NEC Project Manager or Employer’s Agent capacity on large-scale infrastructure or logistics projects.
  • In-depth working knowledge of NEC3 or NEC4 contracts and contract administration processes.
  • Strong leadership in contract administration, risk mitigation, and contractor management under NEC frameworks.
  • Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder environments and interface with multiple delivery partners.
  • Degree-qualified in a construction-related discipline (e.g. Quantity Surveying, Project Management, Civil Engineering).
  • Chartership with RICS, CIOB, ICE, or similar professional body is preferred.
  • Confident, proactive, and highly organised, with the ability to lead from the front in a fast-paced, high-profile delivery setting.

This is a unique opportunity to step into a senior leadership role on one of the UK’s most significant logistics schemes. If you're an NEC specialist ready to make an impact on the client side, we’d love to hear from you.
