Job summary

Hull University Teaching Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a Named Nurse for Safeguarding Children to lead expert safeguarding practice across the Trust. The role involves providing specialist advice, policy support, and ensuring safeguarding responsibilities are met within interagency frameworks.

The post holder will work with designated professionals and partner agencies, supervise safeguarding matters, and contribute to the safeguarding agenda through policy development and service oversight,

Responsibilities

• Provide expert safeguarding advice to staff Trust-wide and support CQC/Section 11 obligations.
• Provide assurance to the Chief Nurse and Head of Safeguarding on safeguarding matters.
• Support Trust-wide policy development in key safeguarding areas.
• Collaborate with Designated Professionals and partner agencies to develop the safeguarding agenda.
• Work with the Lead Nurse for Saf safeguarding Adults and the Named Midwife on highly complex cases.
• Oversee the Child Sexual Assault Assessment Service (CSAAS) management, currently under NHSE contract changes review.
• Contribute to implementing safeguarding partnership strategy for interagency work.
