Job summary

Pearson is seeking experienced educational assessment professionals to join our growing team of examiners, moderators and verifiers in the UK. The role focuses on producing assessment materials, standardising marking, and maintaining high quality and regulatory compliance.

You will contribute to draft papers, set questions and mark schemes, attend committee meetings, and monitor examiner performance to ensure consistent standards across qualifications.

Qualifications

• Degree and teaching qualification required.
• Experience teaching the relevant subject and level is essential.
• Knowledge of quality assurance and assessment practice.
• History of moderation and/or marking a regulated qualification.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the specification for the specialist sector.
• Proven ability to provide and coordinate training such as standardisation.

Responsibilities

• Produce working and final draft papers, incorporating amendments.
• Set and approve questions and mark schemes to meet spec objectives.
• Attend QPEC meetings and deliver a final draft.
• Ensure final papers meet content and assessment objectives.
• Monitor marking standards of examiners to ensure accuracy.
• Monitor examiner standards and advise on appointments and reappointments.
• Provide and coordinate training on standardisation and related activities.
• Ensure quality assurance and regulatory compliance throughout.
• Attend awarding meetings and advise on grade boundaries.
• Submit an evaluation report on paper performance.
