Leonardo, a global high-tech company, has an immediate opportunity for a Lead Modelling and Simulation System Engineer in Southampton and Basildon. We are seeking a Lead Systems Engineer who thrives in the Modelling and Simulation environment.

About the Role

As the Lead Modelling and Simulation System Engineer, you will develop and optimize architecture models across our range of products and applications.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Development of fully traceable system models
  • Developing system requirements and translating them into subsystem requirements and interface definitions using MBSE techniques
  • Designing and integrating new functionality into existing sub-systems in Simulink
  • Designing and prototyping algorithms in MATLAB
  • Providing MBSE support to system design activities
  • Supporting trade-offs analysis

About You

You should have proven experience as a Modelling and Simulation System Engineer, either through industry or advanced academic research.

Attributes required include:

  • Expertise in MATLAB, Simulink, CAMEO-SIM, MagicDraw, or similar tools (SysML/UML)
  • Experience in mode development processes and plans
  • Experience in governing a model-based engineering approach
  • Experience in model architecture development and optimization

Nice to Have/Non-Essential Skills:

  • Awareness of concept design and trade space analysis
  • Understanding of systems engineering lifecycle
  • Awareness of model architecture development
