Our mobile development team is expanding, and we have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Engineer. You will be passionate about creating high-quality mobile experiences, balancing hands-on technical delivery and leadership, mentoring a small team, designing solutions, participating in reviews, and fostering consensus through clear communication and strong technical skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain mobile applications using React Native
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, and Backend teams to integrate features using TypeScript and React Native
  • Improve user experience of mobile applications
  • Work with shared codebases, source control, and documentation
  • Identify and resolve performance issues
  • Write unit tests and documentation
  • Mentor junior developers and participate in code reviews
  • Stay updated on mobile development trends and best practices

Skills:

  • 6+ years building mobile apps in React Native, with 2+ years in a technical lead role
  • Experience with large-scale SaaS applications
  • Deep knowledge of React and React Native
  • Strong JavaScript skills, preferably with TypeScript and GraphQL
  • Understanding of Android and iOS platforms
  • Experience with frontend testing frameworks
  • Familiarity with modern build pipelines and tooling
  • Knowledge of mobile UI/UX principles
  • Problem-solving, attention to detail, independence, teamwork
  • Proactive in identifying improvements

Work Mode and Salary:

  • Hybrid work mode, in London twice a week
  • Salary: £95,000 - £100,000 gross/year, no current bonus or equity

The Interview Process:

  • Online interview with Talent Partner, Engineering Lead, and Head of Frontend (~45 min)
  • Final 75-minute video interview: experience discussion, technical test, Q&A
