Job summary

Blankstate, a London-based AI infrastructure company, is seeking a Lead Machine Learning Engineer who will own the bridge between deep model research and the production ecosystem we ship. You would translate research findings into engineering work, regressions into research questions, and production observations back into experimental probes accompanied with our different units.

This is a senior engineering seat with potential mentorship.

Qualifications

• 6+ years building and shipping ML systems end-to-end.
• Strong in federated or edge ML, evaluation and orchestration, or related areas.
• Instinct for simplifying while increasing capability.
• Comfortable owning a multi-surface program and deepening a component.
• Senior to unblock others by default.
• Fluent in PyTorch and modern serving infra; capable to engage with frontend work (Rust/React) when needed.

Responsibilities

• Own the engineering bridge between deep model research and production systems.
• Translate research findings into engineering work and production observations into experiments.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Work directly with the Chief Data & Analytics Office and Global Delivery teams.
