Job summary

Faculty in London is seeking a Lead Machine Learning Engineer to steer technical direction and deliver complex AI and software projects. You will act as a technical expert, applying your skills from solution architecture to client deployments, while ensuring sound engineering decisions and reliable delivery.

This role balances deep technical leadership with coaching and team growth, building reusable solutions, leading hiring, and guiding customers and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering skills in Python and at least one compiled or strongly-typed language.
• Expert in at least one major Cloud Provider (Azure, GCP, AWS).
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Ability to lead teams, mentor individuals and drive client delivery.
• Excellent communicator with customers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Setting the technical direction for complex ML and software projects, balancing trade-offs and guiding team priorities.
• Architecting and maintaining reliable, scalable ML/software systems and justifying key architectural decisions.
• Defining project problems, roadmaps, and overseeing delivery across multiple workstreams in high-risk environments.
• Leading hiring processes and mentoring multiple engineers to foster team growth.
• Coaching customers and stakeholders, estimating large work-streams and defending rationale.
