Job summary

Delta XD Limited is seeking an experienced Metrology Engineer to lead inspection work and support increasing workloads. You will plan and execute dimensional inspection using advanced 3D scanning and optical systems, with emphasis on accuracy and efficiency.

You will operate metrology hardware, interpret CAD drawings with GD&T, and prepare clear technical reports for engineering decisions. The role includes UK-wide travel and mentoring junior technicians, with opportunities to develop repeatable

Qualifications

• Proven experience in dimensional metrology, inspection or precision measurement.
• Hands-on experience with metrology systems and software (3D scanning/optical measurement).
• Ability to interpret drawings and apply GD&T in inspection and reporting.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality outputs.
• Confident working independently and seeking support on high-risk tasks.
• Clear communication to explain technical findings to customers and stakeholders.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites.
• Eligibility to work in the UK; security checks may apply.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute dimensional inspection tasks using 3D scanning and optical metrology with focus on accuracy.
• Operate and program metrology hardware and software, including setup, calibration checks and data capture on site and in workshop.
• Perform CAD comparisons, GD&T evaluation and data analysis, producing technical reports for engineering decisions.
• Own routine projects end-to-end and assist senior engineers on complex assignments.
• Support customer engagements on-site UK-wide and internationally as needed.
• Maintain measurement traceability and documentation across deliverables.
• Mentor junior colleagues (Metrology Technicians) with guidance and knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to continuous improvement: repeatable workflows and automation.
