Job summary

Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust seeks an experienced Senior Medicines Optimisation Technician to join the KCHFT-LMO Medicines Optimisation Team. The role drives the Medicines Optimisation Strategy and supports pharmaceutical care across primary care services.

You will collaborate with GP practices, PCNs, prescribers and multidisciplinary teams to promote safe, evidence-based medicine use and improve patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience in medicines optimisation and auditing.
• Ability to analyse prescribing data and identify improvement opportunities.
• Mentoring and supporting other pharmacy technicians.

Responsibilities

• Support prescribers and practice teams in safe, cost-effective medicine use.
• Undertake medicines-related reviews and quality improvement initiatives.
• Analyse prescribing data to identify optimisation opportunities.
• Contribute to medicines safety initiatives and QIPP programmes.
• Lead and support projects to enhance medicines optimisation across GP practices and PCNs.
• Provide mentoring and professional support to team members.
• Promote safe, evidence-based prescribing per national and local guidance.
