Job description

MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE

The job holder will be responsible for designing and manufacturing a wide range of subsea mechanical and hydraulic systems, from handheld diver tools to full-scale ROV systems.

Key Accountabilities

  1. Create CAD manufacturing drawings following approved company procedures and policies.
  2. Utilize 3D SolidWorks proficiently for most design tasks.
  3. Develop hydraulic and fittings schematics detailed enough for customer approval and workshop fabrication.
  4. Maintain and control detailed project plans for builds, collaborating with internal teams, customers, and clients to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
  5. Prepare BoMs, parts lists, and assemblies in accordance with company procedures.
  6. Produce detailed Operations and Maintenance Manuals, including parts information.
  7. Develop basic mechanical/hydraulic system concepts into cost-effective, profitable products for design review with minimal guidance.
  8. Coordinate with suppliers to select cost-efficient components meeting project timelines and budgets.
  9. Maintain and produce Product Cost Lists for client quotations.
  10. Assess final build testing for new products.
  11. Perform additional related duties as trained, instructed, and supervised, ensuring safety and adapting to business needs.
  12. Contribute to a positive QHSE culture by ensuring safety, reporting unsafe acts, and adhering to procedures.
  13. Model behaviors aligning with company values.
  14. Complete mandatory training relevant to safety and security.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Qualifications and Certification

  • HND or Degree in Mechanical or Hydraulic Engineering.
  • Relevant work experience may substitute formal qualifications.
  • Full UK Driving Licence (if driving company vehicles, including manual).

Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and structural engineering for subsea equipment.
  • Subject matter expert.
