The job holder will be required to work on designing and manufacturing a wide variety of subsea mechanical and hydraulic systems, ranging from hand-held diver tools to full world-class ROV systems.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Create CAD manufacturing drawings according to approved company procedures and policies.
  • Utilize 3D SolidWorks to a high competency level for most design tasks.
  • Create hydraulic & fittings schematics with sufficient detail for customer approval and workshop fabrication.
  • Develop, maintain, and control detailed project plans for builds, collaborating with internal teams, customers, and clients to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
  • Generate BoMs, parts lists, and assemblies for manufacture following approved procedures.
  • Produce detailed Operations and Maintenance Manuals, including parts information.
  • Develop basic concepts of mechanical/hydraulic systems into cost-effective and profitable products with minimal guidance, ready for design review.
  • Liaise with suppliers to select cost-effective components that meet project budgets and lead times.
  • Create and maintain Product Cost Lists for quoting to clients.
  • Witness and assess final build testing for new products.
  • Perform any other related roles, tasks, or duties as trained and supervised, in accordance with business needs.
  • Contribute to maintaining a positive QHSE culture by ensuring safety, reporting unsafe acts, and adhering to procedures.
  • Demonstrate behaviors reflecting company values.
  • Complete mandatory training relevant to the role to ensure safety and security.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Qualifications and certification:

  • HND Mechanical / Hydraulic Engineering
  • Degree in Mechanical / Hydraulic Engineering

Relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of formal qualifications.

Full UK Driving license required (if involving driving a company vehicle, license must permit driving manual vehicles).

Knowledge:

  • Understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and structural engineering for subsea equipment.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to complete projects on time and within budget.
  • Project planning and cost control.

Experience:

  • Over 4 years of industry experience, including extensive mechanical and hydraulic engineering experience.
  • Experience in ROV tooling and ROV systems design.
  • Experience in technical documentation preparation and publication.
  • Hands-on experience and willingness to assist physically as needed.
