Job summary

Laing O'Rourke in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Project Mechanical Engineer to lead the management and administration of mechanical works within the project programme. You will ensure quality, safety, and profitability in line with the project business plan, coordinating with design, construction and supply chain teams to deliver on time.

The role requires strong cost control, effective planning, and the ability to produce method statements, ITPs and drawings as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience managing mechanical works on large projects in construction.
• Strong understanding of quality procedures and project controls.
• Ability to produce method statements and ITPs.
• Experience coordinating with design, construction and supply chain.
• Able to identify and resolve non-conformances early.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate mechanical works to meet programme deadlines.
• Maintain budget and implement cost control measures.
• Ensure technical information is available for delivery.
• Ensure safety procedures and SMS compliance on site.
• Communicate issues between project management and teams.
• Perform inspections, tests and as-built surveys as required.
