Job Title: Lead Mechanical Operator

Location: Slough

Salary: From £40,000 - £48,000 (inclusive of shift allowance), depending on experience. Performance-related company bonus, welcome bonus of £2,000.

Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off (2 days, 2 nights, 4 off), 12-hour shifts.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Mars Wrigley factory in Slough. We seek mechanically minded individuals passionate about maintenance, whether in ships, cars, tanks, lifts, generators, or similar industries.

Your role: You will lead first-line maintenance of production machines, make operational decisions to meet targets, and coordinate a team of Operators.

What we're looking for:

• A mechanical tinkering mindset, always seeking to improve machinery.
• Hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance from various environments.
• Ability to disassemble, fault-find, and reassemble machinery.
• Minimum 1 year managing and coordinating operators.
• Ideally, NVQ or apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering, but not essential.
• GCSE level education.

Key responsibilities:

• Identify and repair mechanical breakdowns.
• Ensure the performance of machines, processes, or equipment.
• Coordinate a team of operators and temporary staff to meet line targets.
• Assist operators with daily production tasks.
