Job summary

Pertemps Network Group is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to lead a two-person field team across UK wastewater facilities. You will install, maintain and repair mechanical plant, pumps and process equipment, taking jobs from initial site assessment through completion.

Expect a field-based role with opportunities to progress into senior positions, reliance on safety standards, and occasional travel to client sites across the UK.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years’ experience as a Mechanical Fitter or similar roles.
• Hands-on mechanical engineering background with plant and equipment experience.
• Experience with installation, maintenance or repair of industrial plant.
• Confident fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience using lifting equipment and cranage operations.
• Willingness to travel and work away when required.
• Apprenticeship or NVQ in mechanical engineering or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead a two-person field team on customer sites.
• Install, maintain, repair and refurbish mechanical plant and process equipment.
• Work on pumps, pipework, screens and wastewater equipment.
• Take responsibility for jobs from site assessment to completion.
• Diagnose faults and implement practical solutions.
• Complete installations and on-site repairs safely and efficiently.
• Coordinate lifting and cranage activities when needed.
• Work at height and in confined spaces while ensuring safety standards.
