Egis is expanding rapidly in the UK water sector and seeks a Lead Mechanical Engineer to shape major water projects from London to Manchester. This senior role blends technical leadership with hands‑on design across water and wastewater schemes, working in a fast‑growing, hybrid environment.

You will be responsible for delivering robust mechanical solutions, coordinating across disciplines, and guiding teams through design reviews and client engagements, with a focus on sustainability and value

Formación

• Bachelor-level or higher in mechanical engineering.
• Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer status with a relevant institution (e.g. IMechE).
• 7–10+ years of mechanical engineering design experience in water/wastewater/biosolids or related sectors.

Responsabilidades

• Lead mechanical design delivery on multidisciplinary water/wastewater projects across full design lifecycle.
• Act as mechanical technical lead, owning design strategy, interfaces, risks and deliverables.
• Review and approve mechanical calculations, specifications, datasheets, P&IDs, layouts, and supplier submissions.
• Lead equipment selection and mechanical design for pumps, pipework, valves, tanks and process systems.
• Drive multidisciplinary coordination across Process, EICA, civil/structural, MEP and operations teams.
• Promote lean, digitally enabled delivery with BIM/3D coordination and data-led design.
• Provide technical assurance and support project managers on risks, scope, and change control.
• Mentor engineers and support chartership progression.
• Contribute to bids, client engagement and growth of mechanical capability.
