Job summary

Thales in the UK is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Lead for the Under Water Systems (UWS) project in Crawley. You will provide leadership to the mechanical team, drive design for subsea environments and collaborate with PDA/PLA on technical decisions.

Essential experience includes CREO, PDMLink, DEF STAN/ISO standards, and the ability to deliver detailed manufacturing drawings while mentoring others and coordinating trade-offs between cost and customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Essential: L6 qualification or equivalent in engineering/science.
• Desirable: Chartered Engineer or L7 qualification.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical team for the UWS project and provide direction.
• Support PDA/PLA in technical capacity and build improvements.
• Coordinate product definition and trade-offs between cost and requirements.
• Mentor team members and carry out specialised mechanical design tasks for subsea environment.
• Provide trials and integration support and monitor technological developments.
