Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join an established consultancy in the Greater Manchester / Merseyside region. You will own projects from concept through delivery, lead the design of pressure vessels and related equipment, and directly interact with clients to shape engineering solutions.

The role requires Chartered Mechanical Engineer status, a degree in mechanical engineering, and 5+ years of relevant experience, with proficiency in stress analysis and ANSYS.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Chartered Engineer status is highly preferred.
• Minimum 5 years' mechanical design experience in pressure equipment.
• Experience with stress analysis and FEA is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering design of pressure vessels, tanks, heat exchangers, valves and related equipment.
• Prepare and check calculations using Design by Rule and Design by Analysis.
• Perform stress analysis and FEA, ideally with ANSYS.
• Review fabrication drawings and sign off on technical documents.
• Own projects from initial client contact to delivery.
• Communicate with clients and develop new business opportunities.
• Mentor engineers and maintain in-house calculation tools.
