Lead Mechanical Engineer - Maidenhead - Data Centres

We are partnering with a leading Mechanical Contractor in Europe seeking engineering professionals to join their team. Our client works with major names in the Data Centre industry and is hiring a Lead Mechanical Engineer for their project in Maidenhead.

The company operates across sectors including Life Sciences, Data Centers, Heating & Power Services, Chemical, and Battery Factories. They provide first-class engineering, building services, and mechanical installation services to their clients.

Responsibilities:
  1. Provide technical support to the sales department on the specification and design of UPS & Generator systems, focusing on mechanical packages such as Fuel Storage & Supply Systems, Cooling Systems, Ventilation Systems, Vibration Transmission, Exhaust Management Systems, and Acoustic Attenuation.
  2. Assist in preparing technical proposals and submissions, reviewing client specifications, generating compliance statements, developing proposal drawings, and initial design documentation.
  3. Oversee the specification and design of mechanical packages on UPS & Generators projects from handover to completion, supporting Project Management and Commissioning Teams.
  4. Help Project Managers develop project-specific Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
  5. Generate Factory Witness Test procedures and documentation aligned with project specifications and industry standards.
  6. Attend Factory Witness Testing of UPS and Generator Systems in Europe and/or UK with client representatives.
Skills and Experience:
  1. Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  2. Experience as a Mechanical Design or Project Engineer.
  3. Knowledge of fluid transfer, ventilation systems, material selection, project management, and CDM principles.
  4. Basic understanding of electrical distribution, control systems, and electronic components.
  5. Ability to interpret and produce technical documentation such as drawings, data sheets, control philosophies, equipment schedules, and calculations.
