Job summary

NCR Atleos, headquartered in Atlanta, seeks a Senior Electronic Engineer to join the Media Handling team in Dundee. You will design, develop and test embedded MCU/FPGA based PCB assemblies and electronic modules, with responsibilities spanning from schematic capture to hardware debugging and reporting.

Ideal candidates hold an honours degree and have over 5 years of MCU/FPGA experience, with expertise in USB devices, EMC compliance and both analogue and digital design.

Qualifications

• Honours Degree (Minimum 2.1 or higher).
• >5 years experience developing MCU and/or FPGA based products.
• USB devices experience.
• Design for EMC compliance.
• Analog and Digital design methodologies knowledge.
• Ability to work on several projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and test embedded MCU/FPGA based PCB assemblies.
• Design, develop and document electronic modules and systems.
• Digital and Analog electronics design.
• Schematic capture (Cadence Allegro preferred).
• Create test specifications and reports.
• Soldering proficiency with SMT components.
• Debug hardware to component level and support testing.

Position Summary & Key Responsibilities

An opportunity has arisen in the Engineering organization for a Senior Electronic Engineer in the Media Handling team.

Main responsibilities shall include, but will not be restricted to:

• Design, develop and test embedded microprocessor & microcontroller-based PCB assemblies
• Design, develop and document electronic modules and systems
• Digital and Analogue electronics design
• Schematic capture (Cadence Allegro experience preferred but not essential)
• Create test specifications and reports
• Soldering proficiency with SMT components
• Debug hardware to component level
• Hardware unit test, and supporting integration and systems testing
• Provide estimates of effort, schedule, and size of change to Project Manager
• Regular progress reporting on schedule, quality & size of change
• Support for existing devices through problem investigation, identification, and resolution
• Mentoring Junior Engineers.

Essential Qualifications/Experience

• Honours Degree (Minimum 2.1 or higher)

• FPGA (Verilog/VHDL) design knowledge

• Experience with high-speed interfaces (e.g., DDR, LVDS)
• Industrial grade design
